About the FitSpirit Mother-Daughter Relay Race

The Mother-Daughter Relay Race is a fundraising event that benefits FitSpirit and involves mother-daughter teams of two or three. Now in its third year, the event has needed go virtual to protect the health of our community members during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve created a Facebook group page to allow race participants to train together, share their progress and ultimately run the race.

Each mother-daughter duo or trio is invited to run or walk a combined total of 20 kilometres at their chosen time between Saturday, August 15, at 8:30 a.m. and Sunday, August 15, at 4:00 p.m.

In its first two years, the Mother-Daughter Relay Race had 221 participants and raised close to $67,000. It was held alongside the MégaRelais Madame Labriski.

*A mother figure can substitute for the mother in a two- or three-person team. We recommend that any girl who participates is at least 12 years old.
** Each two- or three-person mother-daughter team is responsible for making their own run segments totalling 20 kilometres.
