Mélanie Lussier

Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Communications

Standing tall

Alongside her work in communications, playing sports is one of Mélanie’s greatest passions. She and her daughter, Lili-Rose, make fitness a central part of their lives. She sees regular exercise as a source of energy, balance, self-esteem and joy.

In high school, Mélanie decided to join a basketball team, in part because she was tall. It was a life-changing decision. Playing basketball allowed her to accept her body, learn how to set goals for herself, develop a competitive spirit and take advantage of the opportunities her height afforded her.

14-year-old Lili-Rose is having a similar experience and following in her mother’s footsteps. Instead of basketball, however, she’s part of her high school’s volleyball team. The mother-daughter duo stay busy on weekends by playing sports, going for walks and working out. In winter, they enjoy both downhill and cross-country skiing.

Mélanie is currently the head of corporate affairs and communications at Duchesnay, a pharmaceutical company with an ongoing commitment to women’s health. Before joining Duchesnay, Mélanie held various key positions in large organizations such as McKesson Canada, Pratt & Whitney Canada and Roche Diagnostics.

Overall, Mélanie’s proud to have established a healthy balance for the important things in her life: family, career, friends, sports and fun. She sees the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Relay as an inspiring challenge, and she and her daughter Lili-Rose are excited to take it on together.
